It's so exciting when all the new babies start coming into the nursery! Today, a Medium Sulphur Crested Cockatoo and a Goffin Cockatoo were added. Sales are definitely picking up with Spring arriving also. The shop was packed again today! So much fun having everyone around playing with the birds.

These birds are all on sale! Lots of cockatiels and lovebirds for only $25 each...our budgies are always only $15...and our Quakers are $200...we also have lots of little conures; green cheeks, cinnamons, pineapples,yellow sided, and black caps.
Well, it's nearing the end of the "baby season" and I'm glad!!! We have so many Blue and Gold Macaws, we're gonna have to have a huge sale!!! The babies just moved out of the nursery and into the shop area. So now, they are begging everyone that walks to by to "step up!" The are so sweet and loving, giving everyone hugs. Even though we are still hand feeding them once a day, I'm ready to go ahead and make some great deals with our layaway program. Actually, layaway is a great way to get them paid for before Christmas!
There are so many of the birds talking in the shop right now, it sounds more like a day care center than a bird shop! I would love for everyone to stop for a visit; you just gotta see and hear these little guys to really appreciate them.

Our Emerald Coast Bird Club meetings are always open to the public.
No "membership" or dues required...very casual, refreshments provided by Bird House of Montague and other guests, different subject matters and speakers (some time DVDs)at every meeting.
Door prizes!
Lots of fun!

Baby Hawkhead arrived Friday at 27 days old! So adorable! I sold my last one in June, and since we only get one a year...I was very excited to have this one come into our life! They are getting more and more rare around here. We also have some more new babies in the nursery...a Lesser Sulfur Crested Cockatoo, Severe Macaw, White Cap Pionus, Orange Wing Amazon, Umbrella Cockatoo, Timneh African Grey, 6 Blue and Gold Macaws, and 2 Greenwing Macaws. Our nursery is FULL of babies!!! And, there are still some more babies that on just one feeding a day in the shop...Maximillion Pionus, Blue Headed Pionus, Rainbow Lorikeets, Caiques, Blue Fronted Amazons, Yellow Nape Amazons, Blue and Gold Macaws, Cockatoos, Congo African Greys, Blue Crown Conures, and more!!! We still haven't sold all of our small conures...cinnomon, yellow sided, and black caps...AND, we still have Quakers!!! Blues and Normals!!! We also have the cutest Lutino Indian Ringneck! The Eastern Rosellas are still here too. So, I pray that someone sends us some interested customers soon! I'm hearing "Here I Come To Save The Day" from the Panama Amazons every morning and every evening and sometimes in the middle of the day...they are so funny singing! And they are beginning to learn everything that Tripper, my Double Yellow, says and sings too. With all the different kinds of birds right now, it has been a lot of fun just hanging around the shop and enjoying them and their antics!!!

Our club met yesterday, Aug 3rd; and we had a great time. We learned a lot from some DVDs by Tani Robar on training our birds tricks. She makes it seem so easy; I can't wait to try some of her techniques. We had one new member this month; and we had quiet a few of those attending the meeting take advantage of our 15% off toys, perches, playstands, and food. So, all in all it was a great meeting and great day for Bird House of Montague. We hope more new people will come to enjoy next month's meeting and take advanatage of the savings. We even had more birds go to their new homes...Sunday is becoming a busy day for us!
